Movies to Watch This Weekend: Fast Cars, Crime Fighting Women and a Con Man Being Changed

 

Ford v. Ferrari:

An American car designer Carroll Shelby (Matt Damon) and British driver Ken Miles (Christian Bale) put personal issues aside and fight against corporate interest to build a fast car for the Ford Motor Company. To truly test the car’s speed, the two take on Enzo Ferrari’s cars at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966.

The movie based on a true story has received positive reviews from Rotten Tomatoes movie critics and fans alike. Movie critics have given this film a 91 percent rating while fans have given it a 100 percent. This film opened on Friday.

Charlie’s Angels:

Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska are the next generation of Angels working under Charles Townsend. This time Charlie’s Angels are called into action to save the world after a system engineer leaks information on a dangerous technology that could cause serious damage.

This action movie has received different reviews from Rotten Tomatoes fans and movie critics. Audience members gave the film an 87 percent while critics gave it a 59 percent. This film opened on Thursday.

The Good Liar:

This movie follows a career con artist Roy Courtnay (Ian McKellen) who meets a put together widow Betty McLeish (Helen Mirren) online. After getting to meet Courtnay meets McLeish, she begins to open her home up to him. As Courtnay becomes closer to her, he finds out what should be an easy con job begins to become a hard proposition.

This movie has not been received well by Rotten Tomatoes movie critics. They rated the movie at 59 percent. Moviegoers’ ratings were not given. This film came out Friday.
